C. aclandiae 1st bloom
I'm just enjoying the first bloom of my C. aclandiae. I got it in fall of 2011 from Clouds as a small seedling. 2 years ago it put out a bud but it blasted. I'm sure the plant was too young at that time. It started getting too sprawly in the pot so a year or two ago I mounted it on a piece of tree fern fiber. It took a while to adapt but has done OK and now it has given me a bloom No scent yet as it only just opened but they are supposed to have a nice spicy scent and last fairly long. 1st two pics are from yesterday and I just took the 3rd picture this afternoon.

Congrats on the bloom! This is my all time favorite cattleya. I'm hoping for a bud on my new lead. This is the time of year it generally blooms.

Woooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!
I got a not yet bloom sized one 2-3 years ago (I don't know how far off it was from bs at that time) - I was hoping that the recent new growth might bloom, but alas not. Maybe next year ...

They might be fast little growers. I just got one (exactly 1 month ago) and it already put a new growth that is getting bigger fast. I am amazed.
