Brassavola Nodosa (Remar x Mas Mejor') spike nub?

I bought this orchid the other day since the other members said it was a great addition to have.

I kept it in the same media (charcoal , bark , and perlite) since it didn't show signs of decay. I think I read somewhere they don't like repotting , I am not sure thou.

I placed in in my south window.

I couldn't find info on fertilizing or watering.

If anyone has additional information.
At first glance I thought I saw three spikes but they were new growths. Now I am aware of where the spikes grow from and there are two forming.

On the top bulb there is one spike nub if I'm correct? The other one I didn't not take a picture of.

What is the requirements for spikes?

The part of the picture is a bit blurry but I think that's an old dry spike. Sorry if I'm right.

The medium looks good to me too. I think there's no need to change it now.
Best time to repot would be just when new roots are emerging.
Let it dry out between waterings.
Fertilize like your Cattleyas.

I see that old dry spike but if you look from the top of the picture in the middle there is a leaf with a small growth.
Ok I will let it dry it &a fertilize like the Catts.

If you are talking about the growth at the top of the photo - I think that's the top of the pbulb. I'd expect this to get small sheaths . And if that's the growth in question, it looks like an older one (the 'sheathy' material the envelopes the new growth has browned, become papery, and mostly fallen off (or was pulled off).

... tho, is that a spike I see on the growth at the bottom of the photo?

Quite frankly I have no clue right about now. Other then that it has three new growths at the bottom so I'm guessing it's happy.
That is a leaf that looks a little dehydrated and twisted. Lol.

I see a new spike coming in from the top of the bulb on the growth near the top-center of the pic.

I don't think that's a start of a pike.
Nodosa and its hybrids make spike sheath (not always but I have seen a lot of them and almost all of them did), so as the new leaf (or the lead) grows out, you will see the sheath, and from the sheath, the spike will emerge and this may take some time.

The other one I see near the bottom of the picture, the lead is making two leaves, not the spike.

but to be sure, just wait and see.

B. nodosa need very bright light to grow and flower well. So give it the most light you can possibly give.
I saw a huge specimen covered with hundreds of flowers in Hawaii, and it was growing outside in the full sun facing south.

Water well while growing and developing spikes. Let the mix dry inbetween watering, but still it will be 2-3 times a week during hot growing season.

Fertilize a little bit while actively growing.
