As for the multiple blooms...it's really all part of the same cycle it's just that some of the growths are a bit behind in timing than the others. I find that many catts put out flowers like this because the growths don't grow in perfect sync.

Personally, I prefer one big flush of blooms over the dribble effect but the latter allows us to have the flowers over a longer period of time and that's never a bad thing.

Don't you love the fragrance?

Again...good growing! It's beautiful.
Thank you,Katrina
And YES ,I love the fragrance !
I so want an Alba too

That's beautiful!! And big too, nice job. That's pretty amazing that it's been blooming that much for you. I'd have to agree that it's probably just due to new growths maturing at different times, not that that's not a good thing. I've got a mini that bloomed a second time a couple months later no doubt because the new growth was ready then. My Paph Odette's Vision has been in bloom since the end of the summer, first with two flowers now one. And I'm pretty sure it's because I bought this plant with a lot of growths. It's still an awesome thing.

it is awesome,no matter how they came into bloom,I agree with the growths maturing at different times,it made a lot this year ( oh,I have to say -last year -now )
Second set of blooms just opened up this morning, too bad they are on the opposite side, otherwise it sure would look a lot nicer.

Lovely! The staggered blooming keeps this plant in bloom for many weeks of aromatic enjoyment! I'm beginning to reacquaint myself with cattleya species and this is one of my favorite species! I have a semi alba about to open in a week from a recent purchase and will post to compare! Great job btw!

I bought the plant with buds in sheath from John Marcotte in Hamilton area. It is a division of his mother plant 'Charlie'... Link below

This jenmanii 'Charlie' sometimes will get venosa lines on the petals depending on temperature... Very interesting!
