This orchid is enormous! Each bloom is the size of my hand and the plant itself is huge. The flowers have a nice scent to them, kind of sweet and spicy. Too bad the blooms won't last too long.
I lost the tag for it. I think it'ls a Blc? I remember it had an asian-sounding name. I got it from Crystal Star orchids about a year ago. Any ideas?
It looks a lot like Lc. Orglades Grand 'Yu Chan Beauty', but there are so many white Cattleyas with ruby lips out there that you won't be able to positively ID it without the tag, or contacting the grower. Have you reached out to Crystal Star orchids?
Hi, thanks! Yes I've emailed them and they've replied. They're going to try to find out, but I threw out the original pot it was in when I repotted it, which had a code written on the side, so that makes it tougher for them.

I wouldn't think they'd have sold too many white Catts with Ruby lips, but I don't know. I hope you get it identified and tell us here
It's lovely, but I agree, too many similar ones unless Crystal Star can identify it. They really should be able to as it wasn't so long ago if you bought it a year ago. My Orglades Grand has a somewhat darker lip.
You may also be able to find Crystal Star's pre-order list of Cattleyas and recognize the name from that. They might still have it.
