Default Myrmecatavola Tiger Lily aka 'The Weed' New Photo Added

This plant was divided none too gently from the mother in late August or early September.

I was there. I watched. I winced. There was twisting and tearing and just about hacking. I worried the trauma would make the plant have a hard time establishing with fall moving in.

Guess not. It had a young lead, which put out roots, matured, spiked. Flowered! I wish I handled trauma this gracefully

12.1.14 I added a pic to show the color change this one undergoes. It's pure orchid magic, IMHO.

Most the chids with Richard Mueller in their background seem to be very forgiving of division.

Really nice Schombocat. What's the vola? Does the color fade with age like many Richard Mueller?

Thank you all! I was already very fond of this one, but its scrappiness after such an ordeal completely won me over

I added a picture to my first post above to show the color change this Richard Mueller cross performs. Two orchids in one. They should have charged me double!
