Default Cattleya maxima coerulea

I got this plant from Ecuagenera last fall bare root. It started a new growth in late winter and sent out roots to my relieve. Add to my surprise this half size new growth bloomed with one bud without a sheath. The previous spike showed 6 flowers. Can't wait till this plant establishes strongly in a few years! The parentage is 'Gigi x Angelo'... I love the flower color! Light purplish blue with a central yellow line...

Yep, this plant definitely has promise. Hopefully the shape gets better on subsequent blooms.

Thanks all. I know as catts get bigger and stronger, the flowers will also get larger and better shape. Fingers crossed!
