Thank you, resident cheerleading girl!!!
I looked, and this cultivar remains available it seems....can't even remember which big commercial grower I bought it from, but I almost never buy anything in bud or flower (complex paphs are the exception now)....but, I do try to buy NBS when possible.

Perhaps it's the light, or the camera, or both.
The upper left corner of both pictures do show real color of the blooms though.
I have not noticed this so called "Salmon pink" flowers turn anything near yellow. They stay that way the whole time.
I have to say it smells really nice.
I'm posting a picture of nicely grown specimen from a recent show, which shows the true color of this hybrid.

Well, given my personal, subjective experience with this hybrid over many years....which I reported accurately, and my pics are faithful in color to that day...seeing yr offering, I was just moved to delve....and I found this!
Rlc. George King 'Serendipity' AM/AOS
Scroll down, the AOS, incredibly, reports my ongoing experience with the morphing of the color! And that, for me, has always been part of the magic of this hybrid.
I am not much on hallucinating, after all. Always being creative and imaginative, yes, hallucinating....thankfully, not so much. Mine, truly does open pale....and then morphs!!!

Color description is highly subjective, what can I say?
The flower color does get darker or more intense in tone as it matures as many flowers tend to, but I would not use "orange" to describe this particular hybrid. Then again, many purple flowers are marketed as either blue or lavender, and magenta colored orhcids are never so described rahter lavender. so, again, what can I say?
I would not be surprised if yours or others truly change to orange since even the mericlones actually express quite a bit of variability.
Your picture I doubt shows true color because as I pointed out, the upper left hand corner does show true salmon pink. Also, the right side where the color looks different, the color of the leaves also suggests that it is altered by light or camera. just an observation, not a protest. Relax.

Again, I reported as accurately as is my commitment to do. and, esp in natural light, my camera does register colors faithfully....forget, what is in the pics is exactly what my eyes always see! True, I am (very) nearsighted without glasses or contracts, but, if I get right up close to anything, I see like an eagle.
Re orange, I believe I never said orange....I am not a huge fan of orange, actually. But, if I found something orange....I would give my all to grow it well.
I have given away two pots of this hybrid I made after dividing I just did not have the room to keep.

The AOS article use orange. but then you used peach and apricot, both of which, especially apricot has orange undertone. but then again, they are both rather ambiguous colors. just saying.
I believe that's what you see, but as I said repeatedly, your photo does show two different light sources, upper left corner and the rest. and the flower on the right side suggests it's under some kind of light. Do you grow under light? I know you mentioned natural light, but it's just my observation and quite apparent if you were to ask other members what they think.
Mine had virus, so I tossed.
If you like orange cattleyas, then Susan Fender "Cinnamon Stick" is hard to beat by any measuer. it's got everything, color, fragrance, grows like weed!
It's commonly available.
Unless you're familiar, look up images. very nice one.

No, I grow with no augmentations of any kind, light, air movement, humidity, etc. Those pics were made with the plant on my dinette table.....where I display my blooming orchids unless they get put elsewhere temporarily when humans are eating at that table.
The Susan Fender sounds fab.....and thanks much, you would make a very fine drug supplier!
Re colors, sorry, I was in a hurry and missed the AOS said orange. mine never gets truly orange! I do my own painting, which our official building painter has mixed feelings about, but he kinda digs it....scraping, plaster repairs after, then mixing my own paint. And, ironically, my kitchen and dinette walls are currently PEACH. I am sensitive to colors and so always learn which pigments I need to buy and add slowly to arrive at just the shade I see in my head.
In this event, a wall color I mixed very much like the interim shade of this hybrid's blooms before it morphs more into apricot.
I am sooo sorry yours had a virus!!! Do you think it arrived with one?

I have heard them! Well, on cable. But Dea, I love them anyway, those sounds are perfectly evolved!.....I identify with most other animals, esp beavers.
Saw thrilling docu about a koala rescue center....I was thrilled and I also wept. You know, slowly but surely their habitats are being replaced by urban development.
I have another koala wallpaper. I switch them around when not using my custom made orchids wallpapers.

Flora and fauna habitats are in jeopardy for sure. Documentaries are either very hopeful about the future or so full of doom that it's difficult to watch.I've always felt the world population is out of control and depleting the things that future generations will not see. Pray for change!
