Thank you all for your nice comments. I gave this plant lots of light and kept it warm. I tried my best to mimic the Peru treetops. I also have a seedling that is potted in bark in a clay pot. It has grown faster than the other 25 cattleyas I have. I only use rainwater and that is a feat in itself in California

C Rex is a challenging plant to establish, took me quite a bit of time to have mine with roots.

This plant was mounted when I purchased it so I didn't have that challenge. I did buy a seedling at about the same time and I followed the advice that was given in an article I read by A.A. Chadwick in the AOS magazine. It's put out a wonderful root system and is thriving.
