Thank You, Matt!
Chaz is a reliable trustworthy vendor and all of his plants are healthy; arrives fresh and intact as if it never travelled. If Chaz says its near bloom size then expect flowers by the end of this year.

Very beautiful. Thanks for sharing you guys. I wish the rupiculous Laelias were more common.
Isn't it strange that the flower color would vary so much?

Since this is in the Cattleya alliance; you may find fiery reds, corals, pinks, golden yellow and neon green....The Ecuagenera people from South America often come to orchid shows and bring wonderful orchids that is not common in the US market.

Bud,
This is beautiful! I'm not familiar with the growth habits of this species, but it looks like it blooms on special growths in a similar manner to Catt. walkeriana & nobilior. Is this true or do the growths continue to mature after the blooms have faded? Very interesting plant.

James,
What's the name on this one? It looks a lot like an Slc. or other complex hybrid, so it might not be a great comparison.

All I know is mine is a rupiculous laelia from brazil. Bud's on the other hand does bloom from the base ala walkeriana. Interesting. I'll have to read around and see what it is like.

After the flower is gone, it continues to be a mature bulb with one leaf. The two leafed bulb produces another bulb that contains the spike then produces a single leaf after the blooms have faded.
*if you look at picture 2 the leftmost bulb with a single leaf have the dried spike in it.
