Default Can this little Schombo take the heat?

I've had this one for almost two months now in a SW facing window that gets direct sun light from about 2-5.
Slowly I've noticed the leaves on the older smaller pseudobulbs starting to yellow and brownspot, However the newer larger pseudobulbs look good. Should I move him under the lights or leave him be???

myrmecophilia tibicinis is the new name. They need some shading from direct sun. Like 30% or so.

i don't know but i like that you address the plant as a 'he'. Orchids are he's too and so are boats and cars !

They like the light but not the heat. Avoid temperatures of more than 35°C and standing air.
My big plant got seriously burned and damaged that way.

So you are saying it was shaded if it was in a palm tree. Wind also is a factor. A plant out doors in the tropics gets a fair share of wind and rain. In a house, the situation is not the same.

I am aware that the climate inside a house is different than outside, Just saying I saw some in pretty intense conditions. Thanks for the help though!

I grew mine in full sun in Hawaii. There is also a massive plant(s?) that is growing on the ground and on rocks at one of the botanical gardens in Honolulu that probably covers an area that is about 40 feet long x about 20 feet wide, if my memory serves me correctly. Anyway, no shade for that guy either. I say let him fry! Euplusia is right about moving air though. Higher temps and light need more moving air. I wouldn't worry too much about that unti the air gets to about 85-90 degrees though.

I agree that it can take the heat, and to be honest it looks OK for the most part there. Some catts can take near full sun for portions of the day and be fine about it.
