It's lovely. Mine is currently in bloom with two blooms. I bought mine last Feb. in bloom and it missed Christmas by a few weeks this year. I did post a picture of mine on OB recently but it was in a group shot although I did name them. I find this to be a very robust grower. I hope yours blooms next time for you.

silken, I found your post. lovely photo!
-50 Windchill outside but I have blooms!
Every florist here has 'Christmas Rose' if selling cattleya. It's like a must have cattleya, that's why I am so surprised only few threads can be found.

Thanks! I hadn't heard of it either until last winter I saw it on a price list from Crystal Star Orchids in Canada. They were going to be at the show in Edmonton in Feb. and I ordered one. When I was at the show another vendor, Ching Hua from Taiwan actually had a bunch of them too. But they attend our shows every year and I had never seen this orchid before. This plant had so many roots it was a nightmare to re-pot which I did last March. By Oct. it had 3 new growths and so many roots again that it was already out growing its new pot! So I re-potted again and this time took a division off for a friend. It's been a very nice plant.
