So I got it, finally. Was on my list for some time, my first rupicolous and mini Cattleya. So tiny and cute, hope it will be happy at the balcony:-)

Very nice ! This is fast becoming a specimen with several new leads coming....there is a mature plant that just flowered....so you can expect flowers when the new leads mature.

Thanks Bud, this is from my very favorite seller on eBay, I got great rare plants from him, and he specializes in rupicolous. He does not have any of these for sale, but I knew he had one and he was so kind to sell me this great plant, with new leads:-) I am very happy:-)

I think I know to whom you refer. I bought three Laelia rupicolous species plants--not your variety--from him earlier this past summer. Every time I see my plants I am reminded of my visits to Rio de Janeiro. There is a house on Impanema Beach, right off Avenia Atlantico that has these plants growing like ground cover, in full sun, shaded by a bamboo palm. I would pass by and the blossoms were intoxicating. They seemed to be in full bloom in September or October--which is spring time in Rio.
Where you live Tommy, your weather and geographical conditions would be very similar to Rio, I wonder if your plant would also thrive living outside? Beautiful plant, BTW.

Matt, except mini's and few Masdevallias, I have everything outside the whole year round, so yes, I hope it will thrive outside, and I think it may, the conditions should be ok for this baby:-) Seller is cshaz, and he specialize in rupicolous and dockrillias. I got many interesting plants from him this year already. He gave me detailed growing info, including the important thing to water these little guys from the bottom in the winter time, due to the fact the water from the top kills new growths in winter:-) He recommended bright light but not direct sun except maybe early morning or late afternoon, which is exactly what it will get. There is also very important info about fertilizer - he said he burned many roots with even weak fertilizers till he started to use Osmocote pellets, only some 3 in this little pot, which never burns roots:-) I hope to make it bloom, but this one is so cute even without any blooms anyway:-)

This is a really cool plant. I wasn't familiar with it until you posted. That's a wonderful find and I'm sure it'll do great in your climate. Just when it seemed my list was about to go under 10 wants, you show me a new one to add on. Lol!
