Regular Laelia purpurata
Here's another Laelia purpurata in flower now. This is a rosier flower, not really a striata.

Those flowers are stunning, Mauro. I've never grown Laelia purpurata before. Would you please advise if any of the cultivars of this species that you grow are fragrant?

Laelia purpurata is a rewarding species, Steve. When healthy it will always bear a crown of large flowers. That's why it is so admired and grown here. And it is a naturally fragrant species. All clones I've been showing here are fragrant and so are the others still in bud. It is rare finding some that is not. It is true that some have a stronger fragrance, some a bit less, but this is normal, I think.

Gorgeous!
Mauro, is this rosy one a wild clone or intra-space hybrid?

Several of these rosy clones have been found in the wild, Pheli, but mine came from a sow.

The color of the venation on the petals/sepals is very attractive! Very nice.

It must be joyful to see these plants in the wildland.
I've never seen such rosy forms sold here, despite we have other similar semi-alba forms here.
