It is a regular habit for this species to produce two pseudobulbs per year. Both will bloom next spring, the older one from a dry sheath, the younger one from a green one, which gives a load of flowers.
I honestly didn't know that this was standard for this species. I just thought my plant was something of an oddball.
Beautiful blooms and good to know about the old sheath blooming. I have had a seedling for about 2 years that is finally not looking so much like a seedling anymore! I'll show it your bloom pics so it can get the hint
