Default Nice Golden Yellow Cattleyas

Blc. Hawaiian Butterfly "Paradise" - I was looking for a solid golden yellow without any red or orange and bought this last year from Fantasy Orchids. This is it's first flowering. It is 5" across with very heavy substance and a slight frangrance. But the best thing is that this flower began it's peak bloom on Dec. 1st and didn't start to fade until Jan. 3rd! I am very pleased with it.

Pot. Twenty-four Carat "Lea" AM-AOS Another solid golden yellow blooming at the same time as "Paradise". It is only 4" across but has the same heavy substance and slight fragrance. It's lasting 3 weeks so far and no sign of fading yet. I got this clone several years ago from Hausermann's.

If you're looking for a bright golden yellow cat, either one will sure to please you though I prefer "paradise" only because it is a larger flower.

They're both very nice. Good growing.

I have one of those small cattleyas that is dark yellow, with a cherry-colored lip. It bloomed for the second time last year and its flowers lasted a good month or so, longest I've ever had a cattleya last. I wonder if the yellow ones last longer? Mine had a very light, but nice fragrance.

I meant to mention how beautiful both of those are. Good to hear how well they're doing!
