Another recent plant that has bloomed for me. I had troubles getting this one to bloom until I hung it up on one of the racks I made that held the plant closer to the light. Now I have this spike and another one (slowly) on the way. I've heard over and over how this has a delightful scent, and although it is spicey to me, there is something in there that is not the most appealing, although I don't hate the scent.

I just got this one. It came in bloom so I an interested in your light adjustment for blooming next year. Mine is only fragrant at night.

Pretty much just give these as much light as you possibly can that won't cause the leaves to burn. If they are grown under low light, they will become pretty lanky fast.

Thanks - good to know. I grow with natural light, So I should be able to get them what they need, especially when they are summered outside. I'm also thinking about transferring it to a basket (from a plastic pot) in the spring which will allow me to hang it from the GH roof for more light too.

Great photos! I have 2 - B. nodosa Bright Stars and they both have bloom spikes. One is under florescent bulbs, the other natural light. I am surprised that the one under lights is actually outgrowing the one under natural light. I am looking forward to their blooms and scent, even if it has a yucky undertone.
