Default Ctna. Rosy Jewel (white)
Does anyone know anything of this cross. I heard it is very rare and they are few divisions available in the world of this cross. I'm asking because I think my GF prepaid for one at the orchid nursery I usually visit. I believe she took the hint from me mentioning a gorgeous and unusual cat cross that was white, and that I had never seen it before; and its a very large specimen. So i got a pre-bday card with the purchase receipt in there!
All i know it is mucho expensive and muy hermosa!...

I would love to see a picture of this in bloom. Sounds interesting. I am not a discriminating collector so I don't really pay attention to orchids based on rarity or value. I prefer to buy what I like, what will please me. Sorry I can't help!

i am much like you. I buy anything that is gorgeous, rich in colour and stands out to me. But what caught my attention is that of all the orchids i have seen physically and/or online in photos, I have NEVER seen this one. The size of the specimen and the mere numbers of blooms and the bloom petals/sepals & lip shapes were really what caught me. We are having a tropical storm/minor hurricane supposedly to come through Jamaica tomorrow throughout the day. So you will have to wait until thursday for me to get photos when i go back to the nursery to pick it up.

I saw a photo of a white one in OrchidWiz. It's clonal name is 'Hamlyn' All the rest of them are pink. This hybrid originated in 1956 and has been awarded 11 times. Hope that helps and Happy Birthday!

Thank you so much Silken! Now that makes a tone of sense. No wonder I havent found much info online. I know Mr. Claude Hamilton the creator of this cross. He tells me you can't find them anywhere now. Luckily my we convinced him to give us a division from the original plant; the last one of the very few.
I will certainly post pics when i get it though.
