New Order arrived, yay!!!!

in less than one week all the way from Hawaii to NYC!
I was out until late last night and when I got back, the building conceirge let me know there was a large box for me. I knew it was my plants! They thought it was fresh cut flower and kept them in the fridge all day!

I was sooo worried that the cold might have adversely affected the orchids but they were being thoughtful of me so couldn't say anything but thank you.

So far, the orchids seem fine. I watered them good and examined all over as I always do with new plants.
They look very healthy and one has two spikes with one flower bud on each. so excited about that!

The other one is developing two sheaths, but they are so tiny I'm not that hopeful I will see flowers on them.

Both are short standing 8in tall. perfect for my window space!

Oh, by the way, the names are Blc. Toshie's Magic 'Doris' on the left in the picture and Blc.Southern King 'George'

I understand toshie's Magic can be highly variable in flower color. I hope to get something that look very similar to the image the seller used for this one. will find out in the very near future!

I like how they are small but already growing in two directions.

Striking colors. Those small sheaths will become nice flowers. They are healthy looking so treat them good. Give them some warmth as they came from a nursery that grows their plants at around 75-80 with 60-70 percent humidity. Boy these look like nice plants. Looks like about a week to bloom. Nice.

Those are very nice healthy looking plants! The Toshie is going to be gorgeous once it blooms.

Yeah, they do look very healthy. I am so excited about the toshie. I noticed today that one of buds started to get a little yellow color on it and slightly open on the side.
I guess I will see it in full bloom in the next couple of days now! yay!!!

It is from kawamoto orchid in Hawaii. If you seach for cattleys on eBay, you will find most of them are from this seller.
They have other orchids as well, but seem to focus on catts. Their packing method is amazing and they are very quick to ship once the payment is in. Highly recommend!

I bought my first catts, Susan Fender Cinnamon Stick, Chin Chin, and dark pink red one last year. All healthy and came in buds.
Unfortunately I dumped the latter two and my susan fender cinnamon stick is growing nicely.
I would love to buy more, but have to wait until I make some space for more plants.

The flower was slightly cracked open yesterday and this morning, it was wide open. so cute!!!
The other bud is beginning to open now.
What a great timing, because this is just three days after they arrived at my place.

The petals are rather curled out, but it just opened today and I hope they straighten out in the next few days. It's mostly yellowish, but I do see hints of pink on the petals so I know this is going to be closer to the picture I like!

Beautiful. I had a Toshie Aoki something that flowered once and then my nieghbor dropped some branches over the fence and crushed it.
