Lc. Jungle Eyes
My local garden center is getting better and better at actually putting names on some of their orchids, and today I bought this great looking Catt! I saw it on Saturday, but told myself that I would not give in. Soon as I got home I regretted it, so I went back for it today. Now the problem is that there was another Catt just starting to bloom and it was gorgeous (peachy-pink color), and I was sad to leave it behind.....
One bloom is totally deformed and this one only slightly. I can see on the back that the buds and stems sustained quite severe mechanical damage. So hopefully it should have a better shape next time.
And the fragrance is FANTASTIC!!! It fills the room with it's sweet scent.

It's beautiful! I love the glossy texture.
How did you manage to leave behind another pretty Catt? I cannot master such self-control

I wouldn't have managed either normally, but I had to force myself to think of all the money I will be spending this week when I order the project plant and the TCs to go with it! And I'm moving in a month, so have to think about those expenses as well.... But I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up back at the garden center in a few days...

Very pretty. I had no idea that Catt blooms could be glossy like that.

I love it! It looks a bit like an aclandiae! Those have a great scent, too, as do some of their crosses. I'd go back and get the other orchid. Think of all the money you save on shipping! : )

It's 75% aclandiae, which would explain the looks and smell!
And you guys are going to make me lose all self control if you keep telling me to cave in for the other one! That one's a Noid though.

I love spotted cattleyas. That one is beautiful. That's an excellent photograph also.

That explains why it reminds me of one! Does it have to be mounted, too, like aclandiae?

I researched it before buying and it seems to do very well potted too, or in a basket. And mine has a large healthy root system in the pot, so I won't mess with it!
