I have a young aclandiae which I grow potted in bark. It seems to be doing fine. Lots of roots and a new growth that matured very quickly.

Okay, I do have the mini jungle. That likely explains why aclandiae has been doing great all winter mounted bare.

The smell is really really strong in the morning, wow! For now I'm in a studio type apartment, so the orchids are in same room as me all the time. It's a nice smell to wake up to, but it's a bit too much!
I was initially thinking of bringing it to work to pout on my desk, but it's going to fill the entire open space with its fragrance.

Camille, that's a very nice hybrid! I have two different plants of this cross and one of them is currently in buds in one or two weeks I should be posting the pictures as well..
they do grow well in Pots... I have both plants in free draining medium in Terra-cotta pots, and they grow very well!

I look forward to the pics then!
I'm not sure if I should leave mine in plastic or put it in a clay pot. I haven't repotted it yet, just had a look at the roots. The old media is old soggy bark/chc. What works best for these?

nice bloom
...have 3 very young new growths on my LC jungle eyes maybe end of summer I can have some blooms too.
The scent can get overpowering as some of these hybrids can start to smell like soap or laundry detergent when they get older.

Beautiful! That's a nice find Camille! I love aclandiae and its hybrids and I wouldn't have been able to resist that one the first time!
