I just had the same thing happen last spring , first time in alot of years of growing ,also on a Potinara . I also potted it sticking out now it's green . give the plant a chance it spent alot of energy to grow this little white fellow . Did the white growth come from lead area or a backbulb section . mine was from older area so i thought that was a good reason for smaller size. Good Luck

The new shoot is from the backbulb area. I'm including a couple pictures, albeit not so good...just to give you an idea. Also, I have been away, so it didn't get watered for approx. 11 days...that's why the pseudo's are a bit wrinkled...I did not fertilize lately as I heard that if a plant is under a lot of stress you should not fertilize...is this true under these circumstances?
