Hi all,
I bought this plant a couple of years ago as Encyclia fragrans but I doubted about such an identification because of the pseudobulbs clustered with two or, rarely, three leaves (never one!).
According to the key to the species of Anacheilium by Withner and Harding Anacheilium chacaoense could be the right one....
With 2 or 3 leaves you correctly rule out fragrans. Have you considered radiatum? My understanding is that chacoense should have a blue/gray cast, this plant looks pretty bright green in the photo. And I usually think of chacoense having more egg-shaped pseudobulbs, but I'm sure that is a variable trait.
PaphMadMan: thanks for the suggestion.
The plant is exposed to very bright light and pseudobulbs shape is rather variable.
I ruled out Anacheilium radiatum because of lip shape and the lip purple veins mostly parallel to column and never radiating at greater than 90 degrees (unlike radiatum).
Sorry I can't help with the ID. Very glad that you are trying to get the right name on this one. Too often are plants mislabeled.
Beautiful blooms and photos by the way.
