Nice looking foliage Keeping the fingers crossed for you.

To help promote flowering, you can use a special type of fertilizer called "blossom boosters." This is used just prior to bud formation. Phosphorus is very important ingredient to promote blooms.

Cheryl, Could you approximate just how far in advance of actual blooming, bud formation is with Cats?

Cattleya warscewiczii
I've always just treated it like all the other orchids, which apparently is why I have a lovely foliage plant now. Photos attached of the plant last fall and early this spring, after starving that poor thing of water all winter and spring. Full sun is never a problem here. I put it outside about 2 months ago, and we are in an intense monsoon season here in south Louisiana. It has been watered thoroughly almost daily; the p'bulbs have plumped out nicely; there are probably 8-9 new growths (I did let them grow to 4" or so before submitting to the daily rains). I am really hoping that it will bloom later this summer (the type I have *supposedly* blooms late in July.
I'll keep you posted. I am filled with hope.

Hi Nancy.
You have posted this in 2007 , long time ago ...

The 2 images that you have at that time included in your post (not visible above) show a *very dense growth pattern* , which I believe is a quite unusual feature for a plant of C. warscewiczii ...

As I cultivate 1 plant of C. warscewiczii which shows a similar , almost identical (unusual) attitude , I would like you to
kindly tell me how your relevant plant has developed over the years after 2007 :: how tall is the plant now , is the dense growth continuing , have you divided the plant , does it flower every year ??

Thank you for entertaining my question , and best regards ,
Manfred.
