Divisions of this clone has been sold by a nursery in Manaus as variety rubra, but it actually is not . Petals and sepals are far clearer than what a rubra labiate should be. The solid lip may be the reason for the mess, but the presence of only the dark lip is not enough to characterize the variety rubra, petals and sepals also need to be of a dark reddish lavender. The second photo shows it side by side with a true rubra labiata, just for comparison.
Both are nice. Thanks for the comparison. Often definitions like dark red or solid mean nothing unless you have something to compare it to. A reference point is needed, thanks for doing that.
