I got this cute little orchid late September from an Italian vendor (Nardotto et Capello) with 2 spike nubbins starting to poke out, and now it's finally in bloom. :) It was on my wishlist for a very long time and I'm so glad I finally got one, I love this cutie!!

Your Lava Burst is beautiful. What's not to love about those vibrant red blooms. I must add this one to my rapidly growing wish list. ;)

Congratulations Camille! That's a beauty!

Rosie, not that you need further enabling, but it's also tough as nails. Mine has never failed to bloom despite having no roots when I first got it 4 years ago, dividing it twice to keep it small enough to fit in an arrangement with cryptanthus and tillandsias, and leaving it in my parents' inexperienced care while I attend school. I love this gorgeous little trooper!

I'm thinking of putting part of mine on a mount like yours next time I divide it, Camille, since the pseudobulbs stack so much. In my growing conditions it's been a bit annoying trying to get the new roots to grow all the way down to the medium when the new growths get too high above it.

No idea how old mine is, it has 4-5 bulbs I think, and already has a good grip on the mount. I think I need to add some sphag over the roots though, because the bulbs are still starting to shrivel a bit despite daily watering.

 He does keep wondering how I will fit more in... and yet at the show just over a week ago he actually added two orchids to those I had chosen, and they weren't the minatures :)
