Lc Millie Perner (Lc Love Knot. X L anceps)

It's just starting to open up, 6 flowers on the inflorescence.

A few days ago....

And today, wala!!

really tall inflorescence

I'll add to it when they are fully open.

Very nice! This one will be entertaining you for a while.

What's the plant on the left...the one with all the crazy roots? Its gorgeous without blooms and looks extremely healthy.

Wow, that's an impressive tree mount.

Maybe your Grammatophyllum needs a little more sunlight. I bet it will bust out in blooms when you resolve the missing link.

Do you know if your division was obtained from the back growth or from a new lead? I have a few chids mounted on sizable pieces of wood. Growth has been almost too good and the plants should be encircling and overtaking them in a season or two. I'm at a bit of a loss at what to do when they do take over and run out of room. The wood itself has not yet decayed and is still strong and supportive, but that will change in time. Don't know if I should risk a division and perplexed by how to divide a mounted specimen. It may be that the plants will become self supportive to a degree...by overlapping and growing on top of their own old growth. I only have one chid mounted to a tree. No canopy plants in my yard so I tried tying it to a big palm. Probably wasn't the best of ideas in hind sight. The recent harsh winter nearly killed it in spite me blanketing her with layers and layers of insulation. The poor thing is still alive but it's future looks grim.

Those are some great looking orchids. Congratulations! Do you live near downtown Hollywood? I go over to Broward Orchid Supply from time to time to buy a few things.

I just noticed that Lc Millie Perner is an L. Anceps cross. For some reason I've had some difficulty growing L. Anceps. I grow them just like my Cattleyas but they often fail to bloom and sometimes don't even survive.

Tucker, I don't live too far from Broward Orchid Supply. I'm just on the other side of I-95 by the YMCA.

I drive the truck with all the ants on it.. "got ants?"

Anyhoos, have you been to the Yellow Green Farmers Market yet? It is literally walking distance from my house. There is like 8 orchid vendors there. Not much variety, mostly phals and oncidiums, but I've been talking to a few and the consensus is they need to get more variety in. I'm pushing them to help them out, well, so I don't have to drive to the Redlands...heh heh
