Default new sheat discoverd tody

A division I got in june of RTH quests ruby.....another I did not expect to bloom so soon ....I must be doing something right.

Just discovered this new sheath around 4:30 this afternoon. LOL now I know what Im liooking for next time now for the hard part keeping it going since its soon time to come inside for winter.

And I just discovered my Goldenzell 'lemon chiffon' has finaly came out of a long summer sulk ...or maybe a rest period. I am not to sure what to expect from her in summer and she did grow like a weed all winter...The new leads just stopped growing very fast compared to winter rate but did grow a littlle.just discoverd new roots off the new leads Was that just a rest or was it a stall? The leaves have started back into growth also so Its not harmed it in any way like a real stress would have.I would have expected some permanent affect on size or shape of leaves ....Any Opinion as to was this normal or me stressing it somehow and causing it to sulk would be appreciated and help me tell the dirrence in the future wold be great.

Oh yes I knew the first couple of times at least I would be excited to say the least ....Lol I just bought my first Catts last fall in august and am still excited to se any new growth at all ....roots , leaves , or new eyes even if they are just bumps at the base. Actual flower sheaths are so new for its like the 1st of december and Im shaking the presents still to try and guess....I was not counting one having anything close to bloom size and a very generous person gifted me with some much more mature divisions or I would not yet ...

Congratulations on the new sheath. It's great fun watching them grow and even more fun when they bloom.

And Taaa Daaaa today I find another sheath forming but dont hold a lot of hope for this one....but maybe.

Blc Hawaii stars 'Paradise' has a sheath but also some damage to the growth it is on ....wet dry hot cool whatever the reason It had some black spots at the base of the leaf.I think partly due to the covering around the pb holding water there so I removed it gently ....and actually that was what I was doing and discovered the sheath inside and kind of folded and wrinkled due to the old covering impeading it...still a happy dance just because it tried so soon after it came to be in my care.

Bloom or not the effort to bloom with the crappy season outside with nothing more than a little shade cloth is a good reason to be happy. Now if I can just get good enough to prevent the black spots that I have had on a couple ....
