New Potinara!!! help
yay! look who showed up in the mail today. Its my new Potinara Burana Beauty 'Buenaflor' in spike. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the box but opened it to find, not surprisingly, a very good job of packing by shermantp from ebay. Very pleased. Anyways, I wana get to see the buds on this plant open and then continue on seeing this plant flower year after year. Can you guys help me with growing conditions you guys use to flower this plant? Any help is appreciated and I like the variety of conditions y'all respond with because i can estimate a range of conditions that the plant can take and make mine suitable. How long do these flowers last and I heard theyre rebloomers, with FRAGRANT flowers Thanks again

Congrats on the nice new plant.
Potinaras are in the cattleya alliance so bright light and a bit dry between waterings.

The correct name for your new plant is Rhyncattleanthe ( Rth. ) Burana Beauty, they are one tough plant and grow well, as Zoi2 says normal Cattleya conditions.

thanks, its been 4 days now and it really is fragrant. the scent wafts into the room throughout the day and i keep coming back to it, especially at night when the smell just fills the room. it smells like a mix of pink roses, lemon rind, and gardenias!!! never thought those could be put together but this plant does and its yummy. i thikn i should invest in more fragrant orchids

I love the fragrant ones to. I'm hoping my Onc Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance' will bloom again soon as it has a wonderful sent that fills the room. It has spikes just now

is the smell similar to oncidium twinkle? when my twinkle was in bloom it had a citrusy-white chocolate smell to it. very nice

Not sure as I don't have a twinkle and never smelled one.
It's a sweet smell, but not too sickly sweet. Not really sure how to describe it, white-chocolate might be a good description actually
