Carneas are one of the most beautiful colors in Laelia purpurata. This clone has large flowers with wide, flat petals, which are very seldom seen in this variety. The color in the lip is an impressive deep cherry; the general shape could be a little more harmonious if the lip were a little larger than it is... but, well... nothing is perfect !
I added one photo of it side by side with the var. alba of Veitch (most likely better known among orchid collectors as var. schroederae Rchb.f.) for a brief comparison.
The other photos show other clones.
Some are almost as pale as the alba while the first one is such a wonderful cherry. I see what you mean about the full petals on the first one. It makes a really nice flower overall.
