Three Laelia tenebrosa
These 3 came from the same seed pod; the #1 (one pic)has a typical color for the species; #2 (two pics) has a 'greeninsh' color, and is a little bit hard to grow; #3 (three pics) has an amazing lip, is the bigger one and, of course, is very hard to grow!

They are all so beautiful, Frederico. Laelia tenebrosa has been on my wish list for a long time. guess I'll really have to make it top priority for next spring.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

Frederico, you mentioned the later two were more difficult to grow. Is this species more difficult than any other Laelia? In your opinion what makes the last one so hard to grow? They are all quite beautiful.

Hi friends! Thanks for the compliments!
BikerDoc, usualy tenebrosas are very easy to grow and bloom, at least in my conditions! They like a little bit more heat and humidity than purpuratas, but they grow well even amongst Lp (as I grow them). Unfortunately some clones (and as usually happens, always the best!) are more susceptible to pests; the #2 is sensitive to slugs and snails, necessitating frequent changes of the compost;, the #3 is a "magnet" for all types of pests such as scale etc.. Until today I could not make a division, to ensure its preservation!

I love these guys. Thanks for the tips, Frederico. Mine should be blooming for the first time next spring. So far, it has been one of the best growers I have. Three new growths this year, but only one sheath so far. Can't wait!
