Cattleya trianae var. orlata 'Dawn'
This is a fine trianae flower. It generally is the last of my trianaes to bloom and is always eagerly expected because of the beautiful, full flowers (and of course the delicious fragrance!).

The flowers are large too, Nick and Virgil. I am sure you'd love seeing it in person!

Mauro,
That's the best lip I've ever seen on a species Cattleya.

Carl, sometimes nature rivals the best man made orchids, I agree!

Awesome, Mauro. I wonder how many 'man made orchids' we could come up with, if all those great characteristics weren't there to begin with.

As always, sharp observation, Kim! All we can do is to play with what nature has created; we can mix, we can enhance, we can create new forms or colors, but always based on what already existed!
