Default Epidendrum escobarianum Garay

Charming hanging Epi from Colombia. The heart-shaped lips are very interesting. The flowers are born in pairs more or less in the same way Prosthechea (or Encyclia) baculus does, with the flowers facing oposite sides.
When the new growths are still young the leaves present beautiful purple stains, which then go fading as the growth reaches maturity.

That is interesting. The flowers and purple leaves kind of blend together. Neat.

Those plants look very waxy and thick. I'm guessing they like drier conditions? Either way, it looks great! How do they smell?

Not that much, Steve. The lip is a little waxy but the rest of the flower is a little fragile. No perfume!
