This has always been one of my very favorite species of orchid, period. (Along with its sister species E. citrina... I once had a beautiful clone of this latter, with wide tepals and an exceptionally large, frilly lip, which won an AM at the Manhattan Orchid Society in the 90s... and alas, I never made sure it was propagated, and it perished. Which is why I mention propagating yours!

Actually, the pod just split last week. Shortly after these pictures, I self-pollinated it....and harvested it last week. I am really behind on my flasking right now (I have about 20 seeds I need to flask), but plan to get it flasked up her pretty soon....then we'll see if it's viable! It was a very nice flower....maybe I'll try to get it judged next year.
