Default Epidendrum amophillum Barb. Rodr.

This Brazilian species has thick flowers, especially the lip which seems made of wax. The floral stem can produce an impressive ball of flowers. I've been finding trouble to lead my plant to its full potential... must be doing something wrong, but could not figure out what until now.

This is a rupicolous from the bright places in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The stem is thick as are the leaves. It can be as tall as 4-5 feet and the ball of flowers such a plant produces is magnificent, with many, many flowers.
My plant barely reaches 2 feet and is getting smaller each new stem and I can't get more than a dozen flowers at a time. I already changed the medium, the water frequency, the fertilizer, put it in several different places... but it seems not to respond to any of this. I am now getting it off the grh and plancing it under the full sun. My last attempt. Let's see...

Very beautiful.
It resembles the blooms of wax vine.
