Encyclia "shower of flowers"

another one of my Oak tree mounted orchids is beginning to flower. Its one of those better gro bagged orchids. I think they have generic names but if anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate it. The second picture show's 3 I have in this tree, Left is the Encyclia "shower of flowers", Middle is the Encyclia "green hornet" and right is Noid Cattleya. Thanks for looking

How beautiful! Thank you for sharing. This is the first year I tried to naturalize some of my orchids... I haven't gotten to my (much smaller) oak trees yet, but put a couple Vandas on some foxtail palms. So far, so good...

What do you do to protect the plants when we get the occasional cold spell in winter?

Those look as natural as if they grew on the tree from seed.

Laelia anceps would be a very nice addition because, in addition to being very tough, they will also take termperatures well below freezing in the event that you did experience a freeze.
