The current accepted generic epithet is
Dinema. This was included in
Encyclia, but since the genus has been reevaluated, a segregate genus was suitable for this species. It may have also been included in
Epidendrum also, in which
Encyclia spurred from
Epidendrum. It is referred to as
Dinema polybulbon.
