This plant is the prize of my collection. I have a small collection of different variations of C. intermedia (albas, coeruleas, etc.), but as you can imagine....this one tops them all. The actual clone is C. intermedia 'Boca Grande', which is C. intermedia 'Desert Storm' x C. intermedia 'Aranbeem'. The plant was pretty big when I got it, but it really put on some weight this past year. I used to keep this outside, in full sun, but have moved it into the "Vanda end" of the greenhouse this past year. I last counted 60 blooms, of which about fifty are open....but it is still pumping out new shoots, with buds intact. So it may reach 70-80 by the time it's done!
It's stunning! Just beautiful. Great job growing this one. I can only dream that one day my little c. intermedia (alba) seedling will do something similar.
