Default Oerstedella Costa Rica x Epidendrum cristatum

I tried this cross for the first time in 1996. The plant was blooming size but never bloomed for me. Then, for some reason I lost it around 2001. I was always curious about how it would look like because I think Oerstedella Costa Rica, one of the parents, really beautiful. Then I decided to try it again in 2004. One year later and no flower... 2, 3 years and nothing! Then in 2008 I gave up, get if off my shade house and forgot about it. The other day I went to see if the plant was still alive and surprise! One bud!!!! After all these years, only one bud!!!!! The other parent, Epi cristatum, was also in flower with its extremely floriferous spikes bearing tens of flowers each.... and this cross with one!!! Also, the flower did not impress me!
Well, sometimes disappointment is inevitable!

I kinda like it actually, the lip looks a bit strange with the assortment of colours, but I still like her.

I too, love Oerstedella Costa Rica. I've wanted one for years, but knew I had no space for one

I looked up pics of both parents, and I gotta say that the results could have been a bit better. It's beautiful in an odd way, if you see what I mean! The Oerstedella Costa Rica is gorgeous though!!

I kind of like it. Do you think it might improve when it's a bit older, Mauro?
