Such a beautiful orchid being compared to lye soap?? One of the darkest lips I've seen. I loved my grandmother and think she would approve.

Ive never heard of lye soap, but Im assuming that it doesnt smell very good! My perci bloomed a couple of months ago and it smelled awful! The blooms are very attractive though! Good growing!

C. Perciviliana if I am not mistaken?!
Thanks for filling in the blanks, Suzie. Yes, it's C. percivilinana 'Summit'. I completely forgot to label the picture.

You had me going there for a minute with the Angraecum comment. Never knew they were called the Christmas orchid. Thanks for sharing.
Ross, I think that Ang. sesquipedale has long been called the "Christmas orchid" since it almost always blooms at that time of the year.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I will try and do better next time.
