L Pulcherrima coerul. x L purpurata coerul. striata 'Minha Gilda'
A surprise today! The color of this hybrid is something among lavender and gray, amazing!
L Pulcherrima is a hybrid between L lobata and L purpurata; I cannot find the name of the re-cross with L purpurata

Frederico,
Does the picture accurately reproduce the color? This is so unusual and beautiful but I am keenly aware that, with blues, the camera often lies.

That looks great Frederico! Those colors are REALLY nice! Do you think the flower will flatten with time?

Hi Nick!
Yes, the real color is very close to the pic! Fantastic! But the day light was weak when I take the pic, I'm waiting for a sunny day to shoot again (unfortunately too much rain here!)
Hi Steve!
I guess if it had bloomed in a sunny, dry day, the petals could be more flat. Unfortunately, when the flowers open under rain, they lasts much less than when they open in dry weather...only in the next year I'll be able to answer this question

The correct name of your plant is Laelia Pulcherrima, Frederico. The backcrossing with L. purpurata does not change the species involved, so the name remains .

It is very unique and beautiful with this color form Frederico. Well done!
I have an alba one and one called colorform...it is more purple than yours. The alba one is pure white and is blooming now with one flower. I usually have most blooms on these during our springtime here in the states, although I do get a stray spike every now and then at different times of the year...like with the alba one now.
Thanks for your post.
