Ok, I got curious and found in the RHS registry a
Sophrocattleya Blazing Saddles = Sophrocattleya Rimfire X Sophrocattleya Helen Veliz
I can see the sophronitis influence on the flower's shape and size as it doesn't appear to be a standard sized Catt ..
What do you think, H ?
I believe a picture is worth all the words in the world and since I'm not great with words ...here's a pic. I originally got two of these guys at a local garden center after the flowers had died an they were on the way to the trash. I had seen them with flowers and knew if I waited they'd still be there waiting to be saved....so I repotted them and here they are....I tried to put a ruler in the pot so you could judge size.... Something else I noted is that the flower on the far right, which came out about a week ago has faded to almost a white....
