I love these plants but due to the fact that I live in Florida and grow outside, I don't have that much luck with them ![Mad](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/big/mad.gif)

Now I know why I live in Michigan ![Big Grin](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/biggrin2.gif) My dad grew Cats in St Pete and always complained about the high sunlight, the high humidity, the low humidity, the high rainfall, the low rainfall, the wind, the lack of breeze, etc. Me -- I just go over to the window and water mine! ![Laughing](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

I grew mine in a clay pot with very loose fast draining medium. Because I grow in the house I have to deal with not enough humidity...I envy those of you who can grow lots of stuff on mounts.

I have 5 or 6 plants mounted on cork panels and they seem to like it. I haven't counted the pseudobulbs but there are probably 30+ bulbs on a couple of them. Small mounts are quickly overwhelmed by this species, and they need to climb over a long distance when established. When they get too big just attach the small mount to a bigger mount.

I prefer the look of it on the slab too. I have large mangrove slab and they look gorgeous togeter. But I thought that probably cernua will appreciate slightly cooler environment of clay slab...
The slab dimensions are 20cm x 20 cm and the cernua has only 6 bulbs. Is it to big for it? By the way, does cernua grow as one row or it has branching rhizome?

That's a bit large, but eventually the plant will fill the slab. S.cernua does branch but at the same time the rhizomes will grow in rows. It varies a bit according to the clone. I would say they are sort of a combination of branching rows if that makes sense.

Yea, I'm really surprised I didn't kill or anything.

I've got to believe it branches since I have two new growths on mine.

s.cernua
The sticks do look best, though this one's growing off into thin air now and needs a change. It's in BLOOM though, a beautiful thing! Pseudobulbs do occassionally branch, but more often this one does not.
