Cattleya dormaniana
Pretty rare in cultivation. Grown higher light and in CHC and perlite. Originally from Gold Country Orchids. My most prized Cattleya.

Wendy, I just received one from Gold Country. Any tips? All I see on the 'net is to grow it like any ol' Cattleya. Do you agree?

I grow mine the same as the rest of my warm/intermediate Catts. Lots of light and water but let almost dry between waterings. I cut back on water and fertilizer when it's not actively growing.

Wendy,
Thanks for your tips. I'm a little puzzled by "almost dry between waterings". The plant arrived today from Gold Country with live moss growing on top!
I expect rain tonight. I'll sort it out in a couple of days!!

Wow, that sheen is terrific. I can see why it is one of your favorites, it's beautiful!
