Judges here - it appears the plant in the original post by Bayard was awarded under the wrong name. What happens next to correct this?
I went to look up the origins of the names. It's confusing. I started at Orchid Roots, because it's easier to use than the RHS registered hybrids page. But I went to the RHS for confirmation.
Orchid Roots says there were two different crosses registered as C. Louis Chaton in 1898. One is lawrenceana x trianae, Maron 1898, which Orchid Roots says should be named C. Cecilia, Ingram 1895. The other is percivaliana x trianae, Maron 1898, which Orchid Roots says should be named C. Adela, Veitch 1898.
I went to the RHS to double check this. The RHS shows Louis Chaton as lawrenceana x trianae, Maron 1898, but considers it a synonym of C. Cecilia, Ingram 1895, which was also called C. Cecilae, Ingram 1895, and C. Elata, Ingram 1897. So here Orchid Roots agrees with the RHS.
The RHS shows percivaliana x trianae as C. Adela, Veitch 1868. So Orchid Roots also agrees here with the RHS.
