Cattleya Triumphans x Cattleya Orpetii
This is Cattleya Triumphans x Cattleya Orpetii. I bought this plant from Diamond Orchids on eBay in September 2023, and it's now blooming for the first time for me.
This'll definitely be a keeper in my collection! It's a nicely compact plant, it seems to like to produce multiple growths at a time on different parts of the plant, and it produces roots well.

I had a couple of growths rot on me early on, which I'm pretty sure was due to my own mistakes! So I repotted in sphagnum moss in a slotted plastic pot and it's been smooth sailing since. The plant has a pot full of roots and is pushing growths all over the place.

Sphanum isn't a killer... not enough air (usually caused by too much water) is the killer. Get the "humid air in the root zone" concept right, do it whatever way works. Concepts not recipes!
