Default Sophrolaeliocattleya Jewel Box

Here are a few pics of our Sophrolaeliocattleya Jewel Box that bloomed very nicely this year. The poor plant is in dire need of repotting but I don't dare touch it until it is done blooming.

That's a beautiful flower and plant, but a horrible mouthful for a name. Some of those names are so difficult to pronounce.

Slc Jewel Box is now known as Guarisophleya Jewel Box because they change C. aurantiaca to Guarianthe aurantiaca ...
Talk about a mouthful!
I like it as Slc. better

I try to keep up on whats going on but the name changes drive me crazy. Mostly I fall back to what is printed on the plant label and I've had this plant at least 8 years, maybe ten. I should probably keep better records but in the end, I just like it when they boom. Thats all that matters.

I'm really tired of all these name changes. To the taxonomists ... I stick my tongue out in your general direction. I will continue to refer to my Slc Jewelbox as an "Slc"!

I'm surprised yours is blooming so late, Bill. Mine bloomed back in February.
