all the sites seem to show it as Blc but the tag says Rlc....probably an error

this one is a beaut.

scent is light and not too strong, like a gardenia from far away

Rlc. Young Kong was probably once Blc, but looks like that got shifted to Rlc. too ....... along with so many past Blc catts.

Virtually all BLCs are based on what was then Brassavola digbyana. When that became a Rhyncholaelia, the B changed to Rl.

Virtually all LCs (and thus the L in BLCs) were based on Laelia purpurata (sometimes Laelia tenebrosa or one of the other Brazilian Laelias). When they were changed to Cattleyas, the L dropped out.

Now we are left with Rlc, where:
Rhynchlaelio refers to the digbyana ancestor
and Cattleya covers all the rest.
