Very nice white Catt, I like it. Does the bloom flatten out more than that?

No, C. quadricolor (chocoensis is a non-valid synonym)is noted for its bell shaped flowers.

Another quadricolor.

The shape is a little bit different from yours, but it's still shaped like a bell like it should be. The photo is taken from below, which is why you can see the sky.

I think I read that those bloom in areas where they are being rained on that time of the year, and this cupping shape is how they keep from getting water in the area where the column is. I know mine seems more tolerant of overwatering than my others, so there may be some truth in that.

It's an excellent bloom. And I actually like the bell-like shape. Is the fragrance pleasant?

I like the fragrance. Proof of that is that I'm coming back to smell it whenever I can. I can't describe how it smells. Maybe if somebody could tell my of theirs, I could confirm if it's similar or not. It's not very strong, but since it seems that I can smell it anytime of the day and night - perhaps stronger at some moments, or is it just my senses? - it is definitely not weak. I only got one flower, perhaps because it was divided from a bigger plant less than six months ago.

Describing smells is a tricky thing for me, but I like this one.
