Here is what I did. I found a slightly larger pot as the one that it was growing in and took the whole mass out of the first pot, put it in the new one without disturbing, and filled around with fresh sphag. (put some bark in the bottom for drainage as I diddnt have peanuts or any such thing. I felt it needed a larger pot as the new growth was almost over the edge but diddn't want to disturb all the good growth. I watered for the first time today.

Am I incorrect in my method of attack?

Today I also noticed the smallest bulb is yellowing at the top quarter. is this something of concern?

Update... sorry forgot the pix... here they are. In the first pic you can see the smallest pbulb yellow at the top.

Putting it in a slightly larger pot is a good idea gives it more growing room. Could you post pictures of the yellowing? So we have a better idea of what we are looking at? It could be that the older or oldest smaller back phulbs dying back some but with out a picture I can't really tell.

Sounds good, but Kindra is correct about needing a pic!

Typically the oldest growth will be consumed by the plant and its not a problem.
