Fully open male flowers, with a mothball fragrance. People in Brazil call it bolinhos - little balls. This species often keeps last years leaves alive during the next growing season.

I remember the long face of a local vendor 30 years ago. I bought a dark Ctsm integerrimum from him, and he could not understand why I wanted this weird Catasetum and not one of his great Cattleya hybrids.
